This is one preamplifier that has performance and value written all over it.This new Mk-2 model now has Auricap capacitors Oscon capacitors as well as 9- of the excellent Rubycon capacitors and 1% resisitors with high quality wiring. I know of no company even at 3x the cost that offers Rubycon capacitors
This unit weighs in at over 32 pounds in part because of the seperate power supply, and this preamplifier uses a pure class A output section.
For the Vacuum tube complement there are 4 of the classic 6sn7 vacuum tubes , and the very reliable 5ar4 rectifier tube.
This preamplifier is all about musicality,the midrange is it's forte for sure .Yes you can get a preamplifier that will flesh out more fine detail on a particular recording
but it may not bring to life the images in a 3 dimentional manner the way this award winning preamplifier can.It does everything well including the
