When the AudioXsell team found out about the Engadget meeting at Jillian’s in Boston, we knew we had to attend. The event started at 7:00pm on Thursday September 28th. Engadget had said the first 100 people to arrive would receive a free t-shirt. We arrived at Jillian’s at 6:15, and noticed that there was no entrance line. Unsure of what to expect we talked with some of the Jillian’s employees and learned the Engadget event was being held downstairs at a club called Tequila Rain. Seeing as there was no line for entrance we went to get something to eat at Uno’s around the corner.
When we got back from dinner, there was a 200 foot line out the door, I guess we wouldn’t be getting any t-shirts. When we got inside there were lots of people everywhere. We each got a raffle ticket and for those over 21, a drink voucher. People were packed everywhere and each table / booth had a plate of nachos.
Up in the back were tables where four manufacturers had setup equipment for show. The manufacturers Sonos, Sling Media, Slim Devices, and Monsoon Multimedia had representatives to demo and answer question about their hardware. The first company we stopped at was Sonos. They had brought a ZP100, ZP80 and their controller with cradle. We talked with Sean a test engineer from their Cambridge office for a few minutes.
